'Tis the Season

This week has flown by.  I can't believe I haven't had a post since Monday!  I need to figure out how to slow down a bit.  The fog is heavy today so maybe the grey skies will keep me inside.

A lot of Christmas sewing is going on here.  I can't wait until next week's "Sewing Christmas" to show you a special gift I made for my husband.  He's seen me working on it and I can't wait to share it with all of you!

I got out my favorite Christmas quilting book last week and got started on a new project.  I love working with the colors of Christmas.

If you need any inspiration to get you motivated to start working on gifts, pick up any of the Christmas magazines that are hitting the shops, they are great this year!

Bella Bag

I was asked to donate a purse for a silent auction and got up early this morning to get it done.  I started searching through my stash for some fall fabric.

I have made this bag before, and knew that it's not difficult to make - not even with the grommets.  It has some detailing that makes it look harder than it is.

If you want to try to make a purse with a little extra something, this is the one.  I'm off to deliver it now.

It's in the 70's today.  It looks like Indian Summer has hit my corner of the world.  The last warmth of the season before the cold creeps in.  Blessings today!

Fabric Love

It has been a whirlwind of activity around here.  The finishing of the wedding season at the farm has begun a whirlwind of catch up.  From returning phone calls to making appointments to showing the grounds for newly engaged brides, it really hasn't slowed down much at all.

One of the nicest surprises this week was receiving a little package in the mail from Japan.  I had forgotten that I ordered this postage stamp fabric.  Isn't it darling?  Ideas are flowing every time I look at it.  I also purchased a sampler of Cosmo thread from a retailer here in Michigan and it arrived also.

A quick trip to the fabric store for more Aunt Lindy fabric found me bringing home this lovely piece of fabric.  It had me at "Farmgirl Collection" and at $3.97 a yard, on sale, I couldn't pass it up.  Have you made any fun fabric purchases recently?

Sunday Scripture

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity
under heaven."

"I know that everything God does
will endure forever; nothing can
be added to it and nothing taken
from it.  God does it so that men
will revere him."

Eccl. 3:1&14
