'Tis the Season

This week has flown by.  I can't believe I haven't had a post since Monday!  I need to figure out how to slow down a bit.  The fog is heavy today so maybe the grey skies will keep me inside.

A lot of Christmas sewing is going on here.  I can't wait until next week's "Sewing Christmas" to show you a special gift I made for my husband.  He's seen me working on it and I can't wait to share it with all of you!

I got out my favorite Christmas quilting book last week and got started on a new project.  I love working with the colors of Christmas.

If you need any inspiration to get you motivated to start working on gifts, pick up any of the Christmas magazines that are hitting the shops, they are great this year!

  1. I'm lovin' that red & white block you've got there, pretty! Happy sewing.

  2. I just picked up a little more Christmas fabric yesterday. I don't know why, but I feel like it's time. . . I guess since I make most of my presents I need to start early. I have that quilting book by the way, I love it too! Maybe if I blog about my projects it will keep me from procrastinating!! Worth a try!
Have a great day, stay inside and sew.

  3. I can not wait to see what you are doing Renee! Oh how I wish I could have tucked you away in my suitcase for The Sewing Summit! :o)
I *love* the Create magazine!! I am really enjoying my copy.
    Have a wonderful day.
    love ya, Trish

I'm actually making my very first quilt right now (in the middle of it) and I was looking at some really pretty Christmas fabric thinking I can't wait to make one of those too!! Happy sewing to you! Can't wait to see what you've been working on for your husband!!

  7. What fun to be starting Christmas projects. Love Red and White. That is going to be a great quilt. Can't wait to see what you are working on for your hubby. Thanks for sharing the new magazines too. I need to pick up a couple for inspiraton, although I get plenty here.

  8. Oh wow I love that red and white block. I want to make a red and white quilt, and have collected many fabrics, waiting for just the right pattern :-)

  9. Hi Rene. Looks like you are making another beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see it. Hope you are enjoying your day.

  10. Renee I have been itching to sew with Christmas fabrics and I want to quilt them up but I get so frustrated with my seams matching. This morning I ran across a different technique to try. I hope it works. Or maybe not as I would never leave my sewing room! Lovely images...Renee

  11. I love the reds and whites and especially the polka dots. It's such a fresh look! I'm going to check out the magazines. It's always so fun to see them pop up and I'm ready for some inspiration!

  12. Your block looks lovely :) Christmas seems to come around quicker and quicker each !! Happy crafting, Jenny
