I sure am having fun spoiling you guys. One of my "love languages" is giving gifts, can you tell? I just wish I was on the other end of the package so I could see your face and sew with you! I do hope the winners will send me pictures of something they have made using the fabric.
Today's giveaway is the wonderful book, "Inspired to Sew" by Bari J. If you are not familiar with her work and talent, make dash to her. Her use of color is amazing. With the book I am offering my entire stash of modern, colorful fabric. What is she doing? You may be asking. I will save that for a later post.

If you were able to go on a retreat to learn something new,
what would it be?
See you tomorrow!

I am a follower of your blog. There are so many different things I'd like to learn. But what not many do around my part of the country is smocking and I've tried but need lots of help. That's what I'd go to a retreat for.
ReplyDeleteA nice getaway is what I could use, and to learn from others would be the icing on the cake for me.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to machine quilt. I make a lot of table runners and I get so tired of cross-hatching. Thanks, Sue H

ReplyDeleteHeatherVonSJ[at]gmail[dot]com
First, I would love to go to a retreat. Even though I do some machine quilting, I would love to learn more so I am comfortable with it. I love hand quilting, but don't get enough done.

ReplyDeleteI am a homeschooling mom and found your site with my daughter, we would love to learn to use our sewing machine to it's fullest :D Happy Birthday & God Bless you!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough I need help in choosing fabrics that go together. I think I've got all the fabrics I need to make a project but when I start to put them together my brain just won't cooperate - does this go with that, is this print too busy to go with that print, what about a stripe if it has the same colors. I would jump at a class like that! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeletefree motion quilting would be fun to learn...I follow ...happy birthday...hope you have lots of fun...
ReplyDeleteI would definitely love to go on a quilting retreat of some sort! I want to learn free-motion quilting, so that would be my first choice.

ReplyDeleteI would like to learn how to machine quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would like to learn how to do Free Motion Quilting. I know there are wonderful tutorials and features out there, but I think I need someone to sit beside me and help me take that plunge. It would certainly get me started and I am sure that is the hardest part. What a wonderful group of fabrics and a delightful book as a giveaway - Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI'd go to learn how to knit. Thanks for the giveaway! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI would like to learn how to use the software of electric quilt. I would love to be able to design my own quilts but am not the best on the computer. I would also love to learn how to free motion quilt.
ReplyDeleteI would like to learn more about color in applique along with more applique techniques. I've done needle turn on one small project but I mostly do fusible machine applique.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to do needle turn applique. I am sew intimidated when I hear people talk about it!!! Happy Birthday...and of course I am a follower!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were to go to a retreat, I would love to learn free motion and machine quilting. As it is, I send all my quilts out to be quilted, and it gets pretty expensive. I know if I could master this technique, I would have a lot more finishes and less UFOs. Thanks for another wonderful giveaway. I'm a follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower, and I'd say just going on a sewing retreat would be GREAT! I'd love to learn free motion. Happy Birthday later this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm a happy follower too. Goodness you are having a birthday blast! Happy birthday!! I hope you aren't giving up quilting! :-o I would love to take a one on one class to learn free motion feathering. I know they say practice, practice, but I do and still have odd looking plumes. LOL Thank you for the week of fun!!
ReplyDeleteProbably machine or hand quilting. have never done the hand quilting and have attempted little bits of machine quilting
ReplyDeleteSo you seem to be giving up sewing. I would love to learn FMQ. I am intimidated by it, and it doesn't help that I would have to borrow a machine to do it. My Kenmore has a long shaft slant foot and there are no darning feet that work with it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn anything new or even learn have a repeat class. I feel there is always something new you can learn from any class or demo.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good question, and I love reading the other answers. For me it would be paper piecing and applique. Yep, both ..cause in my fantasy, I'm on a super duper long retreat!
ReplyDeleteI became a new follower yesterday. I have a hankering to learn how to crazy quilt right now. Wouldn't a retreat on that theme be fun.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to do hexies. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this.
It would definitely be paper piecing! That is the one thing I keep shying away from. I love string piecing but want to someday learn paper piecing. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention in my previous post that I turned 52 on Jan. 4th! 50 is not so bad. I've learned, you can say whatever you think and be as eccentric as you like, people expect that of you when you've crossed into 50! LOL
ReplyDeleteIf I could go on a retreat, it would be to learn how to piece a quilt. That is my goal for 2012!
I am a follower. If I could learn something new it would be calligraphy. I just love all the fancy writing!
ReplyDeleteI think going on a retreat to learn any kind of sewing skill would be so much fun. But if I had to pick one, I really have been wanting to learn how to applique.
ReplyDeleteI would learn how to do binding from a professional and quilting preferably by hand. I would love to be able to finish off some of my quilts like this rather than sending it off to a professional quilter every time.
