Loving the colors of Christmas
Today we are experiencing the first snowfall of the season. A very gentle, slow falling snow, just like the kind you see in the movies. It appears winter has finally arrived.
My favorite new candy
Today is also my son's 20th birthday. I can hardly believe it. Can he really be that old? Can I really be that old? I am making a cake and plan to deliver it to him at college later this afternoon. He is about an hour from us. Hopefully, the snow won't keep me from going.
Still finding decorations to put up
I'm having some difficulty grasping the Christmas season this year. I don't know what's that matter with me. Are any of you having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit?
Hugs,
good morning renee!
ReplyDeletefirst of all - happy birthday to your son! how so sweet of you to deliver a cake to him - pray you make it through the snow!!!!

Christmas mood.
happy birthday to your 20 year old.
won't he be surprised to receive a
cake at college? you're a great mom.
merry Christmas,

Happy Birthday to your son. I always think of my kid's birthdays as a me day too. I like to recall the circumstances of each ones birth.
ReplyDeleteIt has been harder to get into the season this year, but I think my ongoing move accounts for that.
I need to stay focused on the reason for the season.
No snow here of cousre, but just 45minutes away where my son lives might get some this weekend.
Enjoy your time with your son today. How special to take him a cake.
The snow must make a wonderful Christmas scene - one that we 'down under' would never see in Sydney - although with our weather pattern recently nobody would think it entirely unexpected LOL! Glad you're getting to see your son today for his birthday - that will be special for you both. Drive safely and blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi Renee. :o)
ReplyDeleteA very Happy Birthday to your son! You are the kindest of mom's for bringing a cake to him at college! :o)
Your Christmas touches are just precious and I adore these colors too! :o) Especially since red is my favorite.
I pray you are comfy and warm and your heart settles through the season. I have moments too, like you mentioned, I think mine is due in part to what we have talked about recently. :o)
I took all our Christmas movies out so we can watch them all before the 25th. Wish we could share a bowl of popcorn and a silly Christmas movie from the 70's! :o)
Sincerely - Trish
Happy Birthday to your son! I hope you were able to deliver his cake safely to him, and had a good visit.
ReplyDeleteI don't seem to have the energy (like I use to) to get all the Christmas decorating & gift buying done. Luckily my dear hubby likes to shop more than I do! :) That helps!
I hope you are having a happy day!
xoxo Gloria
I'm a bit under the spirit of Christmas right now too! I don't get it. I love this time of year. I'm still pet sitting and I think that has a lot to do with it. They are kitties and I know they will want to climb the tree...so I'm in a slump..... My daughter will be home tomorrow and they will all leave, headed back to New Orleans. I hope the slump does not continue..........
ReplyDeleteI remember when Holly turned 20...this year it was 25...oh my!!!
