It's time for the July Giveaway! This month features a very special bundle of goods. I am excited to send to one of you the following:
The book, "Sugar Sack Quilts" by Glenna Hailey
The pattern, "Feedsack Patches" by Darlene Zimmerman
and the fabric to make "Feedsack Patches" which includes
48 - 6" squares of assorted original feedsack prints
1 1/4 yards of solid green for sashing, border and binding
as a bonus I will include
a bag of original feedsack scraps
The finished quilt top measures 37 1/2 x 47 1/2

Thank you for this giveaway. My grandmother made most of my mother's and other siblings clothes out of feedsacks and foodstuff sacks (like flour). She told me about the steps they would take to remove the string, bleach/wash with lye soap in the wash pot, etc. Also, my grandmother told me about which sacks became underwear and which outerwear ... and how she made her patterns. So, it would be such fun if won this prize and shared it with my mother. She is my quilting mentor. I'm a gfc follower.ReplyDelete
