I came across this on pinterest yesterday. It struck a chord deep in me. I find that the desire to create is so strong that I can feel out-of-sorts until I take the time to do so. I know that you know exactly what I'm talking about. There are times when I have to step back and tell myself to stop stressing, I'm in control of what I make and there's no need to get all worked up about my self-imposed creative deadlines. Who am I doing this for anyway?
I'm starting out this year by reevaluating why I create, when and how much time I should devote to it and who I am making things for. I am reminding myself that God gave me this ability and I need to let Him direct my creative endeavors - all to His glory! Do I know yet what this will look like? No. But it is a start in the right direction.
This is a big month for me, I have a big birthday and some fun things planned for you, dear friends. This blog is going to have a makeover, which I am very excited about. I have some fun things to share with you. I look forward to the New Year and all it will bring and feel so blessed to have all of you on this journey.
I love this quote and will definitely be using it in my new creative space. I feel the same way and impose those same deadlines on myself. Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration. Can't wait to see the changes. Happy day my friend, PattyReplyDelete

Thank you for this...needed it!ReplyDelete
I do know how you feel, I haven't had time to do anything since Christmas eve finishing up a quilt, and I feel sorta crabby. If I could just get a few hours in at the sewing machine I'm sure my mood would improve. And I love that quote, it says it all. Anyhow, happy new year my friend. I'm excited to see what all the changes are going to be!
I love your quote. It is so true for me. I'm like you in that I get out of sorts if I can't create. thanks for sharing.ReplyDelete

p.s. Your snow photos in your previous post are very lovely!!
After so many years of putting everyone else first my sewing and crafting allows me to be a better person for them and I know they see it. These are the gifts...so true...smiles..ReneeReplyDelete
Thank you for your sweet visit! I am glad to be back!! Trying to catch up!ReplyDelete
I saw this same sign on Pinterest and thought the same thing! I do my creativeness for myself and some for the joy of pleasing others when they see the finished order they requested. Your work is beautiful as always and for the right reason I might add!
Blessings to you!
That quote is so meaningful to me and puts words to the way I feel about creating too. Looking forward to the month ahead and the changes you have in store. I am always inspired by you.ReplyDelete
I can relate to the sentiments in that quote! Looking forward to seeing what you're up to next!ReplyDelete
Your words have me pondering this morning. Like you, I love to create and feel the need to do so. Whether it is sewing or crochet, or even painting a table (my next project).ReplyDelete
In my case, I lack others to create for. I want so much to make and give, but never knowing who to give it to. :o)
I am excited to see your new look and plans for the new year!
love ya! Trish
What a wonderful quote!! I am thankful that God gave me the ability to be creative. It is a wonderful outlet and I get tremendous pleasure from what I am able to do.ReplyDelete
How exciting for you! Looking forward to seeing what changes you are making.
Great quote. Reminds me not to stress over other people's opinions. I'll just bet your talents and your faith will be a great team in the coming year...remember that....ReplyDelete
Looking forward to seeing what you have for us.ReplyDelete
Your birthday? I have a birthday this month as well. Thank you for sharing this thought today. I work a job and a half, in other words I teach a full load of classes plus three more. It has taken over my life, but it will be necessary for a while. This has made it difficult to manage any creative energy whatsoever. I am working to manage it all better this year so I have time to do what I love. Thank you. ~KellyReplyDelete
great advice . . .ReplyDelete
