I Think I Can...

gift of a wall pocket from Joanna

When I got in the car this morning to take Maddie to school, the thermometer read 41 degrees.  Oh.my.word.  Fall is upon us here in Michigan.

The cold didn't snap me out of my mood today.  I want to go back to bed and pull up the covers.  I want to sew, I need to sew...but I have to meet with a bride at noon who's dropping off supplies for her wedding this weekend.  The tent is going up as I type this.

How stinkin' cute is that?

I'm officially burnt out.  A big meeting tonight, a dinner tomorrow and one more wedding this weekend and then things will slow down drastically.  My mind today is struggling with all the details.  Is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel?  Nope.

Even the fun and the good can be exhausting, but the sun is bright and the sky is blue and I'm thankful for a chilly day to wear a soft sweater.  A young girl is getting ready to say "I do" and I know her excitement will be contagious.  Have a wonderful day, dear blogging friends!

Hugs,

  1. I can't wait for cooler weather here! It is still in the 100's here and haven't had rain for so long I can barely remember what it looks like! We all have days and sometimes weeks of feeling "burnt out". It only takes a spark, though, to get that fire burning again!

  2. Renee,
You can do it! I had the exact same thing going on this last few weeks. My end of the tunnel will be on October 1. I am matron of honor in a wedding and haven't even started sewing the dress. Today is the day. (I have said that for the last few days.) But, if I can get through the next couple weeks and finish things up, after that things should settle down. I know you will get through it and do a great job. How lucky are those brides that get to work with you! Please just take a deep breath, and then, as my brother told me he learned from an AA counselor, "Do the next right thing." Every time I feel overwhelmed I just tell myself to do the next right thing, and I do it. If necessary I say it again, and again, till I shake it off the overwhelming feelings and get moving in the right direction. Life is always pulling us in so many directions, but just remember, you can only do "One thing at a time" That one helps me too! Best of luck, prayers going out to you!
    Hugs,
    Julie

  3. Yes, the excitement of the bride is contagious all the way here in Washington!! I, too, want to put on a soft sweater and jump under the covers. :)

  4. I know the feeling I was having a terrible day yesterday... just a low mood not feeling that things were working out the way I had planned, all the positive thinking in the world was just not helping. I am trying to stay focused and getting through the hump day, today I feel much better. Good luck with the Wedding. Hugs, Diane

  5. Dear one, the Lord has put you on my heart the last few days! I've been asking Him to give you strength and energy for your days and to do all you are required to do. He knows just how to multiply our time and how to get the "impossible" done. And even better he knows how to replenish your soul. I'm praying you'll be there soon! Hugs!!!

  6. Renee, things are crazy right now, but they will settle down. Take each day as it comes.
