Petals of Color

I'm in the middle of several projects that I wish I could share with you but some are custom order gifts for people who read my blog and others that can't be disclosed yet either.

The past few days have found me making these fluttery petals for a project I will show you when finished.  It's quick and easy and is boosting my spirits with colors of spring.  I got a kick out of my daughter yesterday when she saw me piling the petals in my favorite vintage pyrex bowl.  She started to laugh and gave me that "of course you would" look.  It made me think about the things I love that I use that other people might not ~

I wear the vintage aprons I buy at flea markets,
I carry crocheted hankies in my purse and use them,
I prefer random floral, chipped plates on my table
over matched sets,
I burn the bunny shaped candles sitting on the vintage tablecloths that don't fit my table
I will wear a hat if the occassion calls for one (in my opinion)
the list goes on and on...

I have a hunch that most of the people who read my blog do the same things and I'm so glad to belong to a blogging community that shares the same interests as me as well as the many things I learn from the ones that have other interests than mine.  What a blessing you all are!

Smiles,

  1. So true...I've seen that look before sometimes on a daily basis. I like to think that it is a memory that my kids will have forever. They will see something that reminds them of their mom...Lovely to share with you...Smiles...Renee

  2. Renee, I have older teens who look at me as if I'm a teeny bit crazy too, but they love me anyway, lol!

  3. I love hats too
I wear three or four strings of old inexpensive beads instead of one highly valuable one
I wear my late Mum's little engagement ring rather than a fancy 'eternity' one
I use a proper fountain pen to write notes and sign cards
I burn the candles at all sorts of meals to add romance!
    ...my list is endless too...
    blessings xx

  11. Sooooo cute! I am in love with your Pyrex bowl too...:)

I am glad our children can see we can be happy in the simplest things. My daughters say, "Mom, you are so funny!"...which means I am LOVING something ordinary, old, or something nobody EVER notices. God has made so much for us to enjoy in this world...:)

Have a happy weekend!! Full of those simple pleasures HE has blessed us with.
