Petals of Color

I'm in the middle of several projects that I wish I could share with you but some are custom order gifts for people who read my blog and others that can't be disclosed yet either.

The past few days have found me making these fluttery petals for a project I will show you when finished.  It's quick and easy and is boosting my spirits with colors of spring.  I got a kick out of my daughter yesterday when she saw me piling the petals in my favorite vintage pyrex bowl.  She started to laugh and gave me that "of course you would" look.  It made me think about the things I love that I use that other people might not ~

I wear the vintage aprons I buy at flea markets,
I carry crocheted hankies in my purse and use them,
I prefer random floral, chipped plates on my table
over matched sets,
I burn the bunny shaped candles sitting on the vintage tablecloths that don't fit my table
I will wear a hat if the occassion calls for one (in my opinion)
the list goes on and on...

I have a hunch that most of the people who read my blog do the same things and I'm so glad to belong to a blogging community that shares the same interests as me as well as the many things I learn from the ones that have other interests than mine.  What a blessing you all are!

  1. So true...I've seen that look before sometimes on a daily basis. I like to think that it is a memory that my kids will have forever. They will see something that reminds them of their mom...Lovely to share with you...Smiles...Renee

  2. Renee, I have older teens who look at me as if I'm a teeny bit crazy too, but they love me anyway, lol!

Can't wait to see your finished projects. xx

  3. I love hats too
I wear three or four strings of old inexpensive beads instead of one highly valuable one
I wear my late Mum's little engagement ring rather than a fancy 'eternity' one
I use a proper fountain pen to write notes and sign cards
I burn the candles at all sorts of meals to add romance! list is endless too...
    blessings xx

  4. Hi Renee.
I love learning more about you. :o)
I can see you puttering about in a pretty vintage apron. And it just seems so classy that you carry pretty hankies in your purse. :o)
The list you shared just adds even more charm to the sweet lady you are! :o)
I hope you are having a great day!
    Sincerely, Trish

Isn't blog land a bleesing? Who knew we could find such an understanding place to be- free from rolling eyes! ♥

  7. Very true!! When I was taking photos for my latest post I made sure I was home by myself as I could imagine the shaking of the head that would have gone on if hubby saw what I was taking!!! His comment would have been something like..of course you would!!!

  8. I so love the things you do....I am smiling as I think of my own 3 daughters when they laugh at me....(they laugh only to tease and out of love) theory is...if it gives me pleasure, why not? ! !

  9. Oh, my lot frequently roll their eyes at me, but I'm sure they wouldn't want me to be anyone but me! The pretty petals have me intrigued!

Have a happy weekend!! Full of those simple pleasures HE has blessed us with.
