I have been looking for a topper for my silver tree and on a recent outing I found this angel. She is not in the best of shape but I couldn't pass her up. She still has a working light but I don't use it in the hopes of perserving her longer. She is the perfect addition to the tree.
This tree is covered primarily with vintage bulbs but I have added a few newer ones as well. I have used some civil war era lace for the skirt. A piece given to me by a friend many years ago. She had the blessing of a trunk belonging to a family member from that time period and so graciously gave me lace from it.
My Mom cross-stitched this picture for me. It is one of my favorites. There is beading in the wreath surrounding the picture.
What would an entry way be without vintage mistletoe to grace it? My daughter likes to stand under it when a certain young man comes a-calling. Blessings this Saturday!
With joy,
So pretty...I love the angel! It made me smile thinking about your daughter under that mistletoe!! :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell how much I have enjoyed your wonderful scrap statch that I won! I have been making 'mug rugs' and 'hot cocoa coasters'. I can't share photos on my blog because they are for gifts....maybe after Christmas. Thanks again so much! :)

Loved your tour...you have so many trees...all lovely decorated. I especially like those dancing ladies that you're Mum made..very unique.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tree-topper! I don't blame you for not passing her by! Thanks for sharing!

Imagine my surprise, your tree topper is exactly like the one my husband inherited from his grandfathers Christmas decorations when grandpa died. We always think of him when we set her on the tree:>) Your home is so pretty all decorated. The picture your mother so lovingly stitched is truley a treasure.
