Autumn Blessings Quilt

The other day I gave you a sneak peek of the quilt I was working on.  Today I want to show you the quilt before I take it to the quilter.  When my "Fresh Vintage" came from Fig Tree Quilts, I knew I wanted to make the "All Hallows Eve Portrait".  I needed to make some modifications since the featured quilt was only 18"x 18".  I decided to use the "Sugar Rush" pattern in Camille Roskelley's new book, "Simplify".  I also decided to replace the "H" in the original quilt with "Autumn Blessings" using the book "The ABC's of Words on Quilts" by Elizabeth Scott.  The fabric is "Dandelion Girl" from Fig Tree Quilts which is perfect for my house.  The soft, muted colors of fall go much better with my pastel decor than the traditional fall/halloween colors.

One of the things I like most about this quilt is the scalloped border.  It goes well with the other scalloped trims in the room, like my table and chairs...

as well as the wood trim around the window.  It was a quick and fun project and I'll be sure to share it after it's quilted.  It's now time to go back to my Red Rose Farm quilt.  Hope you are having a great day!

Hugs,

  5. Love your quilt so far, & love the book as well! I want to make 'sweet pea' with the scalloped edge and 'all in the family' from the Simplify book.
