I finally got my daughter's "Hunky Dory" quilt bound the other night. I snuck into her room while she was sleeping and laid it on top of her. She loves how it came out, what a relief!
This quilt came together very quickly. A couple of layer cakes, a jelly roll, and a few rail fence blocks coupled with letting the fabric speak for itself, makes a recipe for a fun, easy quilt.
Maddie asked me to have the quilter stitch flowers all over it and she did so beautifully. I even washed it before I laid it over her so it had that wonderful quilted texture.
I decided to use some left over layer cakes on the back, and if you click on the picture you can see the stitching better. The sun was going down and the light was fading.
I tried my hand at a hand embroidered label this time. I need to work on my stitch size, but all in all, I'm pleased with how it turned out. What are you working on today?
Be blessed,
You are so talented. That quilt is beautiful! I loved how you surprised her with it.

It's wonderful Renee! I love the stitched flowers, I have never seen that kind of stitching and it adds such a "one of a kind" flavor to the quilt and co-ordinates with the prints beautifully. I'll bet your daughters face just lit up when she woke up and saw it:>)
