Friday Pretties

I've got teacups and flowers, cloth napkins and roses on my mind today.  Wouldn't an end of summer tea-in-the-garden be wonderful?

The days here in Michigan are getting shorter.  Darkness is falling much sooner so we need to grab this last bit of warmth while we can.

The zinnia's are in full bloom and my white fall clemantis is just about ready for it's spectacular coming out party!

Time to bake something yummy, fill our cups with ginger peach tea and watch the dragonflies light upon the morning glory.

  1. I would love to have tea with you in the garden, Renee. Your pictures are perfect for Joyce's "Friday Pretties. It's still to hot here to be in the garden or any other place outdoors. I look forward to the cool crisp fall.

  4. I have a little alcove of garden near the chicken house that I have pulled the table and chairs into, it is surrounded by sunflowers, zinnias, the pumkin patch and basil. Now that the days are cooler (hallelujia!) we have been having dinner out there and tea would be wonderful!

  8. Your first photo reminds me of my Grandmother. She would crochet edgings for hankies that I would give as gifts to my teachers. I am fortunate to have some of her hankies from long ago.

  9. What stunning photographs! We left Michigan several states back and are now heading south, back to the heat and humidity of Houston, but I will remember our cool days on Mackinac Island for many years to come.
