Sunday Scripture

There really is a moment with the Lord when your child gets on an airplane to go DC for a school trip where you must once again acknowledge that she is His, not yours.  He holds her in the palm of His hand and loves her more than I will ever be able to comprehend.  While I'm thinking about the underwear bomber and a host of other stomach-wrenching possibilities, God is asking me to trust Him.  So I will do my best and pray for a good trip, fun moments and His safe arms around her.

"I lift my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip,
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
Psalm 121

With joy,

  5. It's always hard to watch a child fly away. Before you know it she'll be back and in your arms again. For now, she is safely in God's hands.
