Putting Away Christmas

I spent the day putting away Christmas. It has officially left and I'm feeling a little sad. The only items remaining are the wreaths on my doors, hence the picture of my back porch. My daughter will go back to high school on Monday and my son will return to college on Tuesday and I'm missing everyone being together already. I am very grateful for the time we had but greedily would like more. The kids keep telling me how bare the house looks now and I have to agree. Christmas always adds such sparkle and shine and now we are back to watching dog hair roll like tumbleweed across the floors. I would love your ideas on how to decorate for the winter months.

Be blessed friends!

  1. I'll be starting to pack away all of the Christmas stuff tomorrow. Like you, I hate to see it go! The extra time with family during the holidays is always so nice - I cherish it soooo much.

    Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest! :)

  2. I know what you mean. I haven't started mine yet, but when I do, I always want to redo something. I want to do a remix, maybe use some of the same stuff in different ways... I will probably have a lot of empty shelves until I decide.
I did have one idea today though. My fireplace is in my dining room and I usually just have some dishes, books candle, plant etc. on it.
I have a collection of white pitchers on top of my hutch, I think I will put on my fireplace mantel.
    Okay, that all I've got.
A little sad when the kids go back to school, but I'm sure you will enjoy your time too. I see a sewing project coming up.
Will watch to see what you come up with to decorate after Christmas.
