Summer Stitching

When the heat cranks up outside, the sewing cranks up inside!  I really need to be outside in the flowers pulling weeds but it's just too hot.  I made the little star quilt from a kit I purchased from Brenda.  I just love it!  The Mouse House Doll quilt is from Amy's book, Sweetly Stitched Handmades.  When you "open" the door you discover little mice.  It was so fun to make!  The flowers are going bonkers in the this humidity and the colors are so vibrant this year.  Hopefully the colors will drown out the surrounding weeds!  Have a lovely day!

  1. This summer is going to be one to remember . . .I just hope that we don't get a repeat next year. Our weather is dry and hot and I am having a time keeping things alive. Your quilts and flowers are beautiful :)

  3. Love the quilts ... the one with the mice is adorable. Flowers are beautiful ... I have a constant battle with the deer in Northern Michigan. Sometimes when I purchase the annuals I plant I just think, "Ok, more money for 'deer food' !" Major rain and thunderstorms here last night; hopefully it will cool things down for awhile. Linda

  5. I too should be out in the garden, but I am trying to catch up on all the sewing I missed this summer with the heat. I love your little star quilt, So traditional and antique looking and then those cute modern prints you used in your mouse house doll quilt, it looks so precious! I am jealous! Great work Renee!
