Peaceful Spaces















The weather is so interesting.  Is it summer?  Is it still spring?  Today I feel like Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.  It looks like doom and gloom and wind outside yet the forecast predicts otherwise. Inside I have been working on calm, cool and serene.  Some furniture got a fresh coat of white paint, I've painted my favorite pink pieces white, as well, to give them a fresh start to the season.  I've been paring down my space, removing clutter from walls and surfaces to give myself a more peaceful home.  I'm letting the colors come through my quilts and other handmade items which can be swapped out for the season.  I'm enjoying how my style has evolved over the years.  Though I'm liking a more streamlined look, you won't be seeing me give up my florals and romantic style anytime soon!

    That lovely cupboard filled with quilts is a stunner. I wanted to open the doors and have a rummage they are beautiful.

    I have been doing some thinning in my house, too. It feels good to get rid of the things I don't love or need.

    I am not brave enough to paint furniture....Yet!

    I do believe I am hearing this same theme in many spots! All of our modern conveniences that are supposed to give us "more time" have only served to fill our time more fully with "detached relationships" (ex. Fb) which will never satisfy that "real relationship" need!

    We've had ups and downs in the weather here, too. Hopefully it has settled into "summery" from now on! You've posted so many lovely pictures in your post. So much pastel- ly, hand-stitched loveliness!

    I love the peaceful look of your home. Your quilt blocks and yarns are in such lovely colors. I have had the urge to de clutter a little to but don't want to change the style I love. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
