Monday

I'm puttering around the house this morning.  I can't seem to stay focused on one thing for too long.  There's a certain restlessness that begins to build mid January.  I can see why people head south for the winter.  Snow is predicted in the forecast and the wind chill is biting today.  My sweet Mother-in-love came to visit for the weekend.  My birthday was yesterday and my husbands birthday is tomorrow.  We were born the same year with one day between us, though many miles apart.  He often teases me about being older.  We had a nice dinner out with my Sister-in-love, Ellen, and her family.  I continue to knit away on the mystery shawl.  I got a big kick out of Romantic Homes using the same colors for their February cover.  Today the second clue is revealed.  It has been very fun!  I was getting something out of our junk drawer and spotted the vintage matchbox ambulance that I dug up in the flower bed about 12 years ago when we lived in Ohio.  I decided to do some exploring and found out that it is a 1968 Matchbox Series No. 3 Mercedes Benz "Binz" Ambulance.  It was made in England by Lesney.  If it was in better condition it would be worth a little something but it was well loved and well buried for quite a while.  A fun find though and there are lots on ebay if you collect that sort of thing.  Have a blessed start to your week, friends.

Joyfully,

  2. Happy birthday!
What lovely photographs. I especially like the rosette made from hymnal pages (I think). I see starbursts/suns everywhere these days--but the music rosette is way better!
    Stay warm!

  4. Happy Birthday Renee!! Hope you had a fabulous day! Loving your pretty pictures! That heart garland is so cute! We've found a few old cars buried in our yard too! It's kind of fun finding them, makes you think when and how they got there, if a little person left it there on accident of actually buried it! :) Have a happy new week!! xo Holly
