I'm back in my old hometown for a wedding. The last wedding of my wedding planning career. Instead of it being at my former farm of employment, it's at my friend's farm. Her daughter is getting married. It's a big wedding with 348 guests. Yesterday the tent went up and I took a stroll on the grounds to get acquainted with the resident critters. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is a slice of heaven on these grounds. I introduce you to Johnny Cash and June Carter, the miniature donkeys. I got a big kick out of watching Wesley and Buttercup, the goats, climb. I had no idea goats liked to climb, shows you I don't have much farm animal knowledge. The chickens were a riot of color and weren't quite sure what to make of me. It is a beautiful setting for a wedding reception. I hope the heat breaks, that's my only concern. Hope you're staying out of the heat!
Hugs,

What lovely pictures! Love the animals and cute garden! :) Hope you have a lovely day! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteI did not know goats could climb either. What a great place.

LOVE the chickens ... I thought I wanted to have some when we retired and moved to Northern Michigan ... I've since found several quilting friends who have chickens so I get my eggs from them. There is NOTHING like a fresh egg ... spoils you for anything else! Enjoy your visit ... wedding planning sounds like a "high stress" job ... Linda
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! :o)
ReplyDeleteI miss being around farms and the animals, love those chickens cant wait to see pictures looks like the surroundings are a beautiful back drop! E
ReplyDeleteHow fun. Had our youngest daughters wedding in our back yard. Did it ourselves. It was very stressfull and I think the only time in my life I could fill my blood pressure rising. What a job, to keep flowers looking pretty and grass in sandy soil looking green until the day came around. I do hope if my oldest of three daughters ever decides to marry she will pick a different location.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful there!! Have a wonderful time and hope it cools down! ;) xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to return home for a few days, and thank you for introducing us to Johnny Cash and June Carter!!! What cute names for the duo.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you could return to your hometown for such a happy occasion. Loved seeing the beautiful farm where the wedding will be held. Johnny and June are so cute. Love the goats on the spools. They look right at home. I live with about 30 chickens in my yard. They are fun to watch. Have a wonderful time and hope the weather cools for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's sure hot here.
