Pretty Meets Functional
I have a very bad habit of throwing thread on the floor. I little clip here and a little snip there and I think I can just sweep it up later. Well, picture me with sharp objects trying to unclog my vacuum cleaner the other day. Not a pretty sight and what a waste of precious sewing time! I remember that I had purchased a pattern for a thread catcher/pin cushion years ago. Yes, you read that right, years.
I chose some of my favorite Japanese prints as well as other pretties from my stash. The pattern came with the tubing that feeds through a casing which holds the little bucket open. Now I have no excuses for my laziness and can keep the sharp objects away from electrical appliances!
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteyears to do something. Good for you.

ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute thread catcher!
ReplyDeleteI need something like that too.
I snip and drop my thread as well.
Have a lovely weekend. xo
What a cute to thread catcher. You could even line in it with a tiny plastic trash bag.
ReplyDeleteI throw things too but because I have wood floors I sweep them up. I have a pattern similar to this but yours is darling. Well done and by the way your grannies are darling....smiles...Renee
ReplyDeletePretty indeed! Happy Sewing and Happy Friday!! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing! It's so interesting how those little things, popular years ago, are "rediscovered" and "ooo-ed and ahhh-ed" over! Gives me credibility cuz I have a tendency to save so much for that future 'need'! Love your fabric choices....so 'today'!! Hugs, Doreen
ReplyDeleteI definitely need something like this - my husband has had to clean out the plugged vacuum at least three times in the last six months... Eek!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! Can you tell me the name of the pattern/designer? Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and functional.
ReplyDeleteBut what keeps it from falling?
My mom gave me one very similar to yours. I just love it! Actually, I wish I had at least one more to go by my ironing board or serger. Yours turned out super cute!
