Pondering Thanksgiving

"It is therefore set apart Thursday the eighteenth day of December next, for solemn thanksgiving and praise, that with one heart and one voice the good people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts and consecrate themselves to the services of their divine benefactor."

~ Samuel Adams, First Official Thanksgiving Proclamation

Words to ponder as we prepare,

  1. Oh,that is just wonderful to read! I wish we, as Americans, ALL knew that phrase/proclamation by heart. I'm going to do my best to do... just that! Thank you!

  2. What a nice post!! I just wanted you to let you know that I awarded you with the stylish blogger award, so if you want you can accept it by visiting my blog :) Have a happy Thanksgiving!!

  3. As a non-American, I am left wondering how and why it moved from a week before Christmas to the last Thurday in November?

No matter, it's intent should remain the same!
