Sewing Christmas

It's hard to believe that we are on our eighth month of "Sewing Christmas".  I can't even begin to fathom that Christmas is only four months away.  I'm excited to share with you this month's project.  It's a table runner that I made from blocks of a quilt that I never finished.  Four of them, with sashing and borders make a nice size runner.

My blocks measured 12 1/2 inches to start so it was a good width to begin creating with.  I thought of all the things that are coming up this year.  Many of us have weddings in the family.  After brainstorming I chose, "To have and to hold, from this day forward...With this ring, I thee wed...".  I printed out the words on my computer and traced them onto the fabric.  I used Cosmo two strand floss in brown (love this floss, by the way).  The runner is quilted in a grid pattern following the lines of the blocks.

This runner can be used for the bridal shower, on the cake table and then given to the bride with the date of the wedding and all the fun info, placed on the back.  She can use it every anniversary for years to come.  It would also be fun to make in a baby theme.  The possibilities are endless.  If you have a Christmas gift idea you would like to share, please follow the links below.  Blessings!

Joyfully,
