This bright summer day ~

The Minnesota Block

This post should come with a warning...may be unable to understand author at some point.  I was up at 3:30 this morning, dropping my daughter off at church so that she can depart for Arizona.  A week long missions trip to an Apache Indian reservation.  I feel a little "off" at the moment.  This forty-nine year old body is ill equipped for early morning performance.

Pretty Pearle Cotton

It looks like it's going to be a wonderful, sunny summer day.  The temps are rising and though the grass needs a major trimming, I will pretend not to notice.  It's a day for fun, not chores.  Oh, what to do?

"My Little Kitten" for Benartex

I believe I will be starting with a lot of coffee.  I'll then proceed to a cold shower and more coffee.  The sun is too bright to waste on dozing.  What will you do on a bright summer day?

Hugs,

  7. Beautiful new block! Just love your fabric choices!
I understand about the late night/early morning drop offs; it's the story of our lives in the height of FFA spring competitions.
I hope your daughter has a wonderful time on her mission trip; a great opportunity to visit another world while being able to stay in the U.S. (I used to tell teachers coming out here they'd have a great time if they liked going to foreign countries without losing the rights of citizenship.)

  8. I love your fabric! I think I will try to catch-up blog, work a puzzle with my neighbor, and sew some napkins for Odelia's lunch box.

  10. Certainly sit on the porch sip the coffee slowly and watch the grass grow more. I do it every morning I can. It makes things look much more in perspective. Enjoy...smiles...Renee

  12. I spent the day picniking with my family and walking around town window shopping. Then home and getting ready to entertain friends today by baking a mixed berry pie and marinating chicken for the grill:>) Hope you were able to stay awake! This is the sunshine we will be dreaming of this winter:>)

  13. On a hot summer day, I eat ice cream! And try to stay near the a/c (I'm a wuss who much prefers winter to the dog days of summer). Adore your polka dotted two-tiered display. So cute!
