The Minnesota Block
This post should come with a warning...may be unable to understand author at some point. I was up at 3:30 this morning, dropping my daughter off at church so that she can depart for Arizona. A week long missions trip to an Apache Indian reservation. I feel a little "off" at the moment. This forty-nine year old body is ill equipped for early morning performance.
Pretty Pearle Cotton
It looks like it's going to be a wonderful, sunny summer day. The temps are rising and though the grass needs a major trimming, I will pretend not to notice. It's a day for fun, not chores. Oh, what to do?
"My Little Kitten" for Benartex
I believe I will be starting with a lot of coffee. I'll then proceed to a cold shower and more coffee. The sun is too bright to waste on dozing. What will you do on a bright summer day?
Hugs,
Love the kitty fabric! So Vintage looking!
ReplyDeleteLove your Minnesota Block. Love your "Thought to Ponder" also. I needed that!
ReplyDeleteRenee, Your blocks are coming along beautifully. We are having a family get together this afternoon. I agree it's too beautiful a day for chores!
ReplyDeleteI see you like Presencia thread too! Ever want to trade colors let me know!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt block and fabric. I am cleaning and getting things ready for a trip we are taking on thursday to Maryland and our niece's wedding
ReplyDeleteha,ha I've done the same thing before. Taking someone to the airport in the wee hours. By 9:00AM I am ready for a nap ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new block! Just love your fabric choices!
ReplyDeleteI understand about the late night/early morning drop offs; it's the story of our lives in the height of FFA spring competitions.
I hope your daughter has a wonderful time on her mission trip; a great opportunity to visit another world while being able to stay in the U.S. (I used to tell teachers coming out here they'd have a great time if they liked going to foreign countries without losing the rights of citizenship.)
I love your fabric! I think I will try to catch-up blog, work a puzzle with my neighbor, and sew some napkins for Odelia's lunch box.
ReplyDeleteI was up early, too although w/o any good reason. Just couldn't sleep! We have a nice sunny day here and I'm enjoying just getting caught up at home.
ReplyDeleteCertainly sit on the porch sip the coffee slowly and watch the grass grow more. I do it every morning I can. It makes things look much more in perspective. Enjoy...smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteThat block is gorgeous! We like to take the kids to the park on warm Saturday mornings.
ReplyDeleteI spent the day picniking with my family and walking around town window shopping. Then home and getting ready to entertain friends today by baking a mixed berry pie and marinating chicken for the grill:>) Hope you were able to stay awake! This is the sunshine we will be dreaming of this winter:>)
ReplyDeleteOn a hot summer day, I eat ice cream! And try to stay near the a/c (I'm a wuss who much prefers winter to the dog days of summer). Adore your polka dotted two-tiered display. So cute!
