Whenever I put a different vintage dress on my dress form I always try to imagine the person that owned it and what type of event they wore it to. This one says wedding to me, or Easter, or a spring dance.
I wish that they still made dresses like this. I do miss all the femininity of years past. When I see my teenage daughter pull on her sweatshirt and jeans and head off to school, I remember the dress code I had at my highschool and think perhaps it wasn't so bad afterall. Blessings!
With joy,
Renee..I used to get up at 5 am and hot roll my hair put a skirt and sweater set on with hose. Just to go to high school. I love ruffles, ribbon and all the frill. I pick up my son at HS and see what these girls are wearing and they look like they are headed for the street corner...scares me! Smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteBonjour j'arrive de connaître ton blog et il est vraiment trés joli. I like your dress, is beautiful! Good day and hello from spain.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty dress. You might be interested to know that many little girls at my church have recently been sporting beautiful dresses with lots of frills similar to the skirt on the model. They look so precious. I just wish I were young enough (and slim enough) to be able to wear one myself. LOL!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Ohhh! I love this one. Wish I was thin enough to wear something so pretty. The necklace looks like one I had in the 70's or 80's with the brand name 1928. Had matching rose earings. Hmmm wonder what happened to those?
ReplyDeleteI agree about the dress code. We had to wear dresses and they had to hit mid knee.
What a gorgeous and feminine dress.

What a fabulous dress! It's a classic and could still be worn today. Sadly, we've become a nation of slobs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet dress. I'm with you; I miss dressing up. You should see our office on casual Fridays - yuck.
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Renée too! I love this dress, it's so beautiful and classy!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress! Beautiful delicate colour!

I just WISH there was a proper dress code for school and work and to think of it, even for going shopping at Walmart! Some of the stuff people will be seen in drives me nuts. My husband thinks I am a nut, but I will run in and change into something nicer to run to the Dollar Store. I don't think anyone wants to see my cruddy paint or garden clothes.
ReplyDeleteI think people would act and talk more respectable in public if they were dressed better. A person does feel different when dressed up.
All in all the world would be much more pleasant if we went back a little in time fashion wise.
