no flash - auto mode - artificial light
Jodi, from Pleasant Home has been doing a series of posts on taking better pictures for your blog. Teresa, from Meadowbrook Farm has been doing a series on photography as well. I have been practicing.
no flash - auto mode - natural light
I can tell that the natural light is much better except I do like the first picture, even though that might be because I like the richness of colors and patterns around the vase.
no flash - auto mode - artificial light
This picture, of my new book, however, doesn't photograph well under artifical light. Sometimes, when the skies of Michigan are seemingly forever gray, I have to take pictures in artificial light.

Jodi is going to be doing a post on taking pictures in artificial light so I'm looking forward to those tips. Compared to these women, I have a long way to go. Practice, practice, practice. My camera is a Canon Rebel XT. Have a wonderful day today, friends!
Hugs,
I love the shadow in the second pic! You are a fast learner.:)
ReplyDeleteRenee the graphics on the Opal book are just darling. I can only imagine the inside. I have terrible issues with digital cameras. Would you believe I have a smallish photography background. The old film photography where I felt more in control. The digital just throws me off every time...Your photos look great. My studio has no natural light..probably why I give up everytime. thanks for sharing...Renee
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting post! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what you think about that book. I saw it at the book store the other day and loved the cover. I judge and purchase books by their cover. :)
ReplyDeleteI always love your photos. I really need a good camera. I love natural light, but the glow from artificial is also pretty for some things. Like everyone, I love the cover of your book. Come back with a review when you are finished.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing links to the blogs. I'm going to check them out.
I've been learning a lot from Jodi, too. I remember those endless gray days while we lived in Michigan! Hopefully, they will be fewer now with Spring approaching. You already do a great job with your photos!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you aren't one of the tutors... your photos are always so lovely!! Happy crafting, Jenny :)
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking I want a better camera and then I remember that I will have to learn to use it...I simply don't have time to learn everything I want to learn! *sigh*
