Wednesday Woes

It's been almost three weeks without my sewing machine.  My strips of fabric sit all ready to go.  I never thought I'd have such a physical reaction to not having my machine.  I'm pretty sure I might have a full-blown anxiety attack shortly.  I think I'll go cut out another quilt...

Blessings,

  1. This is the reason I'm so glad I didn't sell my old machine when I upgraded. Now when the new one is in the shop, I can still sew. Sorry you are missing your machine and I hope it comes home soon.

  4. Oh Renee, I totally know how you feel! Except I only had to go about a week without my machine and it was still in my house. My husband took over my machine to sew a Matrix-type trench coat for my daughter to wear for Halloween. He had to change all of the settings, because he was using heavy thread and vinyl, etc, so I didn't want to touch it and mess things up for him. I must tell you though, the worst part was sitting in the living room while he was at the dining room table sewing! He really struggled with that vinyl and there was a lot of harsh words directed to my machine and presser foot revving, plus several broken needles. lol Thank goodness that's all over with and I have a quilt just waiting to be quilted. Now I just need to find the time. :-) I hope you get your machine back soon. I just love those strips of fabric that you have all set out and I am so anxious to see them come together! Take care :-)

  7. I'm sorry. NO ONE should have to go that long away from their beloved machine! Get a paper sack and breath into it. Go play with fabric and try to find your happy place just a little longer!

  8. How about doing some handwork? Maybe that will help a little? I can't imagine your machine taking 3 weeks to fix? That's crazy!

  10. I'm so sorry you are without a sewing machine. I hope you get it back soon. Don't know what I'd do if I couldn't sew a little something each day.

Love your sewing room in the previous post. After seeing it, I know I need to get serious with my organization.

  11. Renee, just think of all the stuff you can get cut out! Then you won't have to stop sewing to do all that boring cutting!

  12. Renee...
Darn it. I feel so bad for you!...There's nothing worse than when your fingers are itching to start a project and you have to wait.
Just think of all that cutting you'll have done!
I hope your machine comes back soon:)
    xx

PS Have you thought about doing some applique while waiting? You don't need your machine for that!

  14. Every year I'm without my machine for one to two weeks while it's in the shop getting a tune up. That's when I realize how much I use it and really miss it. I hope yours returns soon and I bet you will really appreciate when it comes back.
Have fun sewing when that time comes.

    Blessings...Christa
