From Trash to Treasure

Yesterday I was looking for a simple project and after cleaning my sewing room I remembered I had a footstool I've been wanting to recover.

I was excited when I found this at Goodwill for $9.50.  I already had the rose decorator fabric and so I got to work.

I decided to add some vintage yo-yo's and make some leaves just to add some whimsy.  I really like the way it turned out.  What are you up to today?

Joyfully,

  4. I love it Renee! I keep meaning to recover my footstool too but I can't decide what fabric I want to use. Today I am studying for a test, Photoshop homework and school tonight. If I have a few minutes I'm working on sewing a skirt for my daughter:>) Hope you have a great day. Isn't this heat something else?

  7. Oh, Renee ... that cover is so gorgeous. Wow. I've never learned to sew and so I have great admiration for anyone who is so gifted. I often see old footstools at our Good Will and I know there are beautiful things that could be done to them. It's so nice to see that evidence before my eyes, here on your blog. Love the fabric you used, and love those yo-yo's in the corners.

It's HOT here today. I'm just trying to stay cool and to catch up on emails and blogs, etc. A fun way to spend the morning. Later on, I may walk around the yard and try to capture a few more pictures of the butterflies on my coneflowers and blackeyed susans.

Hope this is a special week for you.

    Hugs ....

  8. Love, love, love that footstool. You did a fantastic job. How creative are you to put yo-yo's(my favorite) and leaves on the corners. I just may have to use this idea on a foot stool I have.
Looks like I have missed some great posts, Renee. Love your blouse too. I saw it on Carrie' blog. Darn...so little time.
