Cupcake Aprons

My friend, Nancy, owns the Garden Gate Cafe.  It's a charming little eatery in Shipshewana, IN in the heart of Amish country.  Everything is cupcake themed and it's about as charming and whimsical as a place can get.  She was in dire need of new wait-staff aprons and I've been busy sewing for her this week.

After passing the ten hour mark on sewing (a had many aprons to make) one starts dreaming about cupcakes.  So now I've got butter softening on the counter so I can make some this afternoon.  I often tease Nancy that her cupcakes are responsible for my extra pounds and I think I'll blame this baking session on her too!

Have a cupcake kind of day!!

With joy,

  1. Those aprons are so cute! I am crazy about anything with cupcakes, now I am hungry for a buttercream!

  2. Hi Renee!! Those aprons are adorable! Now I am thinking about cupcakes and I really think I do NEED one! :) Take care! I always love visiting your blog! It is so pretty. Michelle is helping me with mine, so I hope to have a great new look soon. If I could only make up my mind a little quicker! Have a great afternoon!

  3. So cute...aprons are really big. I have one cut out...haven't finished it..instead bought two made. :)
Sewing pillows this week, but need to grab some of this cupcake material and make one for my daughter-in-law.

  4. I have been to the Garden Gate in Shipshewana! Small world:>) I grew up in Coldwater, MI right across the line from Indiana. The aprons are darling and the dress on the mannequin reminds me of a vintage dress my mom had that I think is packed away in my attic!

  5. They're very cute! What kind of cupcakes did you make?

  6. I love cuppycakes too and I sure do think you ought to be able to blame cupcake weight gain on somebody!
