Knitting the Sun

Out of the wintry grey skies appeared the sun today. I hadn't seen it in so long that I felt compelled to stand outside and soak it in. I know it won't last long and it helps my mood to work on a brightly colored project, so I pulled out the baby sweater I'm making for an upcoming baby shower. I have finished the cupcake hat, which I'll show you later when the sweater is completed. The sweater comes from the book, "101 Designer One-Skein Wonders" edited by Judith Durant. I often get impatient with knitting projects and am working on enjoying the process, which I am told is the best part. I'd like to know your opinion. Do you enjoy the process most or the finished product? Be joyfilled!

  3. The sweater is going to be SO cute...I love the colors. We have a bit of sun today too, although it is only about 10 degrees! lol!!

I do a little hand sewing and I get impatient if it seems like I am behind on something special.

Can't wait to see the finished pieces! :-)

  4. thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'm glad you like the scarves:)

I LOVE the colors you've chosen, they are very sunny and pretty:) I'm guessing the baby is due in the summer? how pretty that will be! I wish I knew how to knit, its only crochet yet. I enjoy the beginining, when I first pick out a new color yarn, and needle and I get that inspiration for something. I don't use directions or patterns, I just crochet what I feel would be pretty or nice, so the inspiration is truly important to me:)

  7. Yum...that yarn looks like sherbert. You think sun, I think food....guess that's because I'm on Weight Watchers.
Cupcake hat?? Sounds intriging and delicious too. Can't wait to see both. Lucky little baby to get these. I haven't knitted for years. I think I stopped when I started quilting. So much to do, so little time. I agree, I guess I like the process. Maybe that's why I have so many projects started and not finished. But I do love handwork of any kind. Wishing you and your family a wonderfull New Year.

  8. Love your blog...I'm so glad I found it. I've put my knitting on the back burner with so much other stuff to do...but you're inspiring me! I know I'll have fun getting to know you, and you may certainly use the birdie photo!

  9. Well, you know me...I love the process and the finished project. But, since I started sewing I have lost much of my patience for knitting. Sewing is so much faster, and the instant gratification is hard to beat! But, like what the others have said, you have made me want to pick up my needles again and knit, at least while I am watching a movie. I bet I can guess which baby...
