Seaside Quilt

Good morning!  I always love it when I can start the day with a quilt finish.  This little one is a pattern from Camille Roskelley's book, "Simply Retro".  I used the wonderful "Seaside" by October Afternoon for Riley Blake.  The solid is linen and the back is a Denise Schmidt print from JoAnn Fabrics.  One of the things I love about this quilt is that you can use a yard and a quarter fabric for the back and it doesn't have to be pieced.  I hand quilted it with perle cotton No. 8.  Have a wonderful day!  I'm off to play in the fabric.

Smiles,

  2. Beautiful and I really like the backing! How was the linen to work with? I've heard it can be shifty and hard to control.

  3. It's really pretty and the colors remind me of a quilt one might find on a chair at a vacation cottage.

  6. Your quilt is just precious. I love churn dash blocks... I have the book but your choice of fabrics makes me want to go order some RB fabric and make it now!

  9. I just completed the same quilt top this weekend at a "Sit and Sew" I went to. I used different fabrics of course but I had not thought about hand quilting it. I really like the way yours turned out.
