Color Wheels

Thank you for all of your kind words about my "Sugar Rail" quilt.  It was very fun to make and will be hard to part with.  For those who asked about the pattern, I cut my strips 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" and then put four together.  I alternated the direction of each block.  I did six blocks across and seven blocks down. It is a quick sew and packs a lot of punch.  I want to show you the second quilt top I finished today. This pattern is from the book "Scrap Basket Sensations" by Kim Brackett.  It is the "Over Under" pattern. I left off the border because I wanted a smaller quilt.  This one measures 50" square.

This fabric is an old line by Alexander Henry called "Willow".  I had quite a bit of scraps left over from another quilt.  I used up every bit except for some pieces of the dark green mushroom print.  The yellow and white gingham makes for a fun touch and I will hand quilt this one.  I'm going to use some fun bright variegated thread.  I can hardly wait to get started.

Smiles,
