These cooler days find me standing at the window and looking at the garden. I know it won't be long now until these flowers are a memory of a spectacular spring to summer show. Already the roses are losing their leaves, a few small blooms remain. The sedum is turning to purple, a sign that fall is closer than we know. The tops of the trees are a mixture of green to orange to yellow. It all happens so fast. If I don't take the time to walk among the flowers, I will miss their departure. The sun is shining brightly today, too beautiful to stay inside. I wish you all were here to meet me in the garden. What a time we would have!
I welcome all of your suggestions to improve my fall table quilt. I was thinking of scrapping the whole thing until I read your comments. I'm going to leave it out where I can see it for a few days to look at it through new eyes (your eyes!) and go from there. Have a blessed day!
Hugs,
Thanks for letting take a walk in your garden with you! You make it sounds so beautiful even though it is fading away. It is sad we miss so many of those simple little things in our journey through life!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with the table topper quilt!!!
Beautiful photo! We don't get much of the Seasons changing here in California. But I sure am looking forward to cooler weather. We are trying to savor these last few moments of the garden as well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your very pretty garden!!
It really is a beautiful day. the sun is shining here and the breeze is cool. Perfect:>) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet you in your garden, Renee. I know yours must look a lot better than mine. The summer heat has just about done in all my flowers that were so beautiful a couple of months ago.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see you finish your table quilt. You can't have pumpkins without orange. I think you will love it when it's quilted. It just says fall.
